Election guidance for government communicators: 27 June 1 – 2pm

  • Tuesday 27 June 1 pm-2pm
  • State Services Commission, Level 10 Reserve Bank Building, 2 The Terrace, Wellington

On Saturday 23 September New Zealand goes to the polls for the general election.

The pre-election period officially begins on Friday 23 June. This period covers the three months prior to the election and brings some particular requirements and extra considerations for State servants and government agencies, including around announcements and public statements by both agencies and Ministers.

As government communications professionals, we need to make sure we know what the pre-election period is, what it requires from us in doing our jobs and how we support Ministers and their offices.

Greg Nicholls from the State Services Commission will take us through the SSC Election Guidance and explain what it means for communications professionals, followed by a discussion and Q & A.
