Nearly 50 people packed in the room to hear the State Services Commissioner, Peter Hughes, talk about the role of communications in 2019.
His interactive talk covered a range of topics, as he talked about importance of communications.
"Communications is the oxygen of leadership."
He challenged the audience to support a efforts to keep the public sector open and accountable.
"I don't think we have a choice but to embrace openness and transparency."
He also talked about the value of service, and in doing good for the New Zealand public.
"We must always bring humility to our work...when things go wrong, that's the piece that's missing."
The Network committee thanks everyone who attended this talk.
